Christmas is a busy time for the likes of you and me.
We dash about, scream and shout, then decorate the tree.
We rack our brains to buy the toys
For all you girls and boys
There’s T.V. Adds Computer fads,
Well done the manufacturer.
Then we stand and queue, Yes, to buy that last gift voucher.
Tinsel, glitter, party frocks. Jingle go the tills.
Buy now with your plastic cards, its later you get the bills.
Oh where is the Christmas Spirit? Oh where is the Christmas joy ?
It’s hard to come out smiling, when Argos has sold the last toy.
At last we’ve wrapped the last present. Santa is packing his sleigh.
The mince pies are out of the oven. And Rudolph’s carrot is on a tray.
Children sleeping like little Angels, after promising to be good.
Mistletoe hanging in the hallway, waiting for the one you love.
It’s five am… “Has he been?” As Santa’s sack goes bleep!
Squeals of delight on goes the light- No more chance for sleep.
Wrapping paper thrown aside. Laughing smiling faces.
Turkey, stuffing, Christmas pud. Sweets and chocolate traces.
Good will to all men. Peace on Earth. Christmas carollers sing.
We all of us have special gifts, each of us can bring.
A pleasant smile. A warm hello. A caring helping hand.
These are the gifts we all should share, to spread across the land.
Kindly deeds. Caring thoughts. Bidding all good cheer.
