Herbs and Healing
Under Construction ! But please still feel free to explore the subpages being added.
We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us. We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water. We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases. We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their light when the sun was gone. We return thanks to the sun that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye. Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in whom is embodied all goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.

Yin and Yang
The following Remedies are based upon the Ying and Yang Energies related to in Chinese Medicine. This Energy is thought to manifest in different concentrations in the Spirit. ~ Spirit, Mind and Body. The Spiritual Being, being the SELF. Which connects us to the Whole Universe. Next came the slightly denser levels the emotions and the Mind.. And finally at the bottom of the scale was the Material World, including the physical body and all its organs which were considered to be the densest expression of energy.
While the Western World view these aspects as separate, in the Eastern world they were considered as different manifestations of the same thing. Energy.
The Chinese went on to link each major organ of the body with an emotion and so imbalances of energy effect different organs and parts of the body causing illness within the physical body.
This philosophy has existed for thousands of years, is now being rediscovered in modern holistic medicine in which the WHOLE person is treated, not just the body.
Energy is forever in motion, moving, it is not static, and in order to move it needs two poles as in the positive and negative connections in electricity, so that it can flow from one point to another. The Chinese called this The YIN and YANG.
All aspects of Life can be defined as Yin and Yang. Some examples of Yin and Yang
Yin Yang
- Cool/cold Warm/hot
- Receptive Active
- Dark Bright
- Winter Summer
- Internal External
- Earth Sky
- Soft Hard
- Flexible Rigid
- Moist Dry
- Regeneration Expansion
- Rest Activity.
Both Yin and Yang are interdependent and both equally as important. Just as if there was only winter ,nothing would grow. If there were only summer also, plants would scorch and burn. Yin transforms itself into Yang and vice versa, just as the seasons and day from night changes .. Both aspects are equally as important. For an example without enough Yin energy the body becomes dry, and maybe restless and barren. A person who has more Yin, in a healthy way can be jovial, relaxed, sympathetic and receptive. Excess of either Yin or Yang can be harmful, the ideal is to have the two balanced which is where we get the symbol of the Yin and Yang with the entwined circles one black and one while… .. I will try to go along and explain more with each Herb and or Remedies.

I ate some good strawberries today. Organic and local. They were yummy. We put them in oatmeal and had bananas too. See you in your garden…
